Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional footballer widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina. Messi began playing football at a young age and joined the youth team of his local club, Newell's Old Boys, at the age of eight. At the age of 13, Messi moved from Argentina to Spain to join FC Barcelona's famed youth academy, La Masia. He quickly progressed through the ranks and made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2004 at the age of 17. Messi's incredible dribbling skills, vision, and goal-scoring ability soon earned him a reputation as one of the most talented players in the world. Over the years, Messi has won numerous awards and accolades, including multiple FIFA Ballon d'Or awards, which are given to the best player in the world. He has helped Barcelona win numerous domestic and international titles, including multiple UEFA Champions League titles and La Liga titles. In August 2021, Messi left Barcelona and joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) due to financial constraints faced by Barcelona.
